This trek is ideal for those who don’t have much time but still like to explore part of the Inca Trail and get to Machu Picchu through the famous sun gate.


Day 1 Cusco Pickup :

  • We pick you up from your hotel at 5:30 AM in the morning.

Day 1 Cusco to Machu Picchu :

  • We drive to Tambomachay which is where our trek starts from.
  • We hike towards Huchuy Qosqo overlooking the Sacred Valley.
  • We continue to Yanacocha Lake where a lovely lunch is waiting for us.
  • We finish the day at Paucarcancha village where our campsite is.
  • Here we enjoy a beautiful dinner before getting a good night’s sleep.

Day 2 Paucarcancha to Aguas Calientes :

  • We wake up early and enjoy a great healthy breakfast.
  • We continue our hike to the Huchuy Qosqo Inca Ruins where we explore the site and talk about the Inca history.
  • We descent into Lamay Town where have lunch.
  • After lunch we are being picked up by our driver and drive Ollantaytambo.
  • At Ollantaytambo we board the train to Aguas Calientes.
  • We take you to your hotel where you can relax and enjoy a delicious dinner.
  • There is plenty of time to explore town before getting a good night sleep.

Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Day 3 Aguas Calientes to Cusco :

  • We wake up early and enjoy a great healthy breakfast at your hotel.
  • We take the bus from to our final destination Machu Picchu (~30min).
  • We explore Machu Picchu with us as your own tour guide (~2hrs).
  • You have the option to climb Huayna Picchu mountain (must be pre-booked, very steep climb).
  • Around midday we take the bus back to Aguas Calientes where you can
    have lunch (~1.5hrs)
  • Next we take the train back to Ollantaytambo (~2hrs).
  • From Ollantaytambo we take a bus back to Cusco and drop you back to your accommodation in Cusco (~1.5hrs).

Do I need insect repellent?

Yes, you should bring your own insect repellent in particular for mosquitos.

Should I prepare for altitude sickness?

Yes, before arriving in Cusco you should get altitude medication (unless told otherwise by your GP). Ideally, you should arrive n Cusco at least 24-48 hours before starting any treks at altitude.

Should I bring any anti-diarrhea tablets?

Yes, if you are taking any altitude sickness medication, you should bring anti-diarrhea tables (unless told otherwise by your GP).
